notes for photographers
Typically on arrival to the venue you will find the wedding party getting ready in the house. See a layout of the house here.
Please park in the main parking lot in one of the 3 main rows (not right next to the barn or house).
Both the cocktail hour and the reception take place in the barn. Weather permitting guests mingle outside for both cocktail hour and after dinner.
For lighting and access purposes, we try to keep the large barn doors open throughout the entirety of the reception. We do have electronic sunshades that we raise and lower based on guest comfort with the sun. At times the doors will be closed due to wind, cold, etc.
The sun sets over the field behind the barn.
For dinner: please check the seating chart when you arrive. If you do not see your name on the seating chart, please let me know. We will typically turn the appetizer into a vendor table for dinner.
For first looks, first touch, private vows etc. there are multiple great locations on property. Below you will find 1 photo from each main location. There are lots more photos of different locations available here.
For the ceremony everyone walking down the aisle will walk from the large sliding door in the barn. See more information on ceremonies here.
Barn and Property layouts can be found at the bottom of this page.
If a couple is having a sparkler sendoff please touch base with venue staff near the beginning of your day. We will discuss the best location for you, lighting, timing etc.
Entrances to reception take place from the door at the top of the driveway. This area of the barn is also the best location for the buffet line. To avoid getting the buffet line in entrance pictures, photos taken from a slightly to the left or directly center and/or from further in the barn usually turn out best. Any “dance moves” associated with entrances are typically performed in the open space in front of the bar, before walking through the seated guests. I do recommend you touch base with the wedding party and let them know where you want them to do any dance/moves before they enter.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time during that day! We are always there to help!
